Baby cat's first trip?
Put the carrier where the cat can see you, and sometimes they feel better with a blanket over the carrier, sometimes not. You'll know pretty soon. He might sleep, or he might yowl the whole way. No way to tell ahead of time. Put the cage where it's most stable and level, and away from any heat vents blasting into his face, and I fasten it to a seat belt just in case. Never open the car door or a window without having the cat in the carrier. When you get to a hotel, take all your luggage and the cat's stuff(bowls, food, water, litter box, toys, whatever) into the room first. Set it all out and bring the cat in last. Open the crate door and let him find his own way out when he feels comfortable. Cats rarely get carsick, even if they don't enjoy the trip. Bring along a large sheet of plastic or garbage bag to put under the litter box in case he misses the box. Don't expect him to use the litter box or eat or drink in the car, probably won't happen until you're in the room and he has relaxed a bit.
