( Guys) Has anyone else heard about Throat Cancer? ?

its not just men,i was 53 when i was diagnosed with base tongue cancer,these were my symptoms a feeling of something in the throat i kept clearing my throat as it was full of mucous.i saw my gp about it and he said my glands were a bit swollen and he would keep an eye on it.a few weeks later 2 huge sized glands appeared in the left side of my tongue,i went to see my gp but he was on holiday i saw another doctor who said oh its nothing sinister so i didn't worry about it.my husband kept nagging me to go back to the doctor so 2 months later i saw my usual g.p who immediatley said i am refering you urgently to see an ent specialist i saw her 7 days later and she did a biopsy of one of the glands.i went back a week later and was devastated to be told i had cancer of the left side of my tongue down in the base.i had ct scans mri scan and a bone scan thankfully it was only the tongue cancer and no secondary,i was treated with chemotherapy and 35 sessions of radiotherapy the treatment floored me and i spent 7 months in hospital.18 months later i am in remission but the treatment has left a heavy price to pay,i have no saliva no taste buds cannot eat and have a tube fitted in my stomach to feed me a nutrient liquid.i have lost 6st in weight but it has stabilized now.i smoked cigarettes and weed for 40 years never was a drinker though so obviously the fags caused it.also in symptoms dont forget an ulcer that wont clear up after a few weeks.
