Travelling to the usa what visa do i need ?

was just wonderin if i would be accepted into the country because i have booked tickets and on my ticket it says i need esta autherisation .bascialy i think thats my visa . im goin for two weeks . but my friend says you need an interview in london ? . and cant have a crinmal record . i dont think i do . but i have a minour driving conviction for carless driven and i rang them up and they said any conviciton you need an interview for ?
