Whats the point of banning people from yahoo answers for saying something "offensive"?

There are guidelines here which we all have the choice, follow them or go somewhere else. Banning people who break the guidelines or TOS is a good idea if a forum such as this doesn't try to prevent bad behavior it would quickly become a site full of profanity and unpleasant behavior.
